With his back against the wall, Sen. Barack Obama delivered a speech in Philadelphia yesterday explaining his position on Rev. Wright and related issues. His admirers may find much to like in it, but conservative critics started picking away at it almost from the moment he was finished with the speech. Here's an example of a review, by Jonah Goldberg. Meanwhile, the public will have to wait a little longer for the "dialogue on race," Obama's fall-back position becomes the fact that he is the anti-Clinton, and McCain scores propaganda points with no effort on his part.
UPDATE: Jeff Jacoby has a few choice words to say about Obama's choice of spiritual advisor in "It's Still a Question of Wright and Wrong."
