Bring Out the Champagne! Today Is World Toilet Day

WBBM has the story of why this unofficial holiday is so important:

"World Toilet Day is a day set aside to raise awareness of the world to the global sanitation crisis," said Ned Breslin," head of the group Water for People.

"Two-point-five billion people around the world do not have access to improved sanitation. Many people believe the number is even higher," he said.

Even the United Nations is involved, saying prison inmates around the world, including those in the United States, frequently have no access to clean toilets.

This is the 8th annual World Toilet Day.
