Nassau County, N.Y. Outraged by Proposed Toilet Tax

CBS New York reports that County Executive Ed Mangano, a Republican, has proposed a one penny per gallon water usage tax that will apply to nonprofits such as fire stations, schools, hospitals, and libraries.

“It is being called taxpayer relief act when actually all we are doing is soaking the taxpayers with a toilet tax or sewer fee,” said Nassau County legislator Dave Denenberg, D-Merrick.
