What's Good Enough for You Ain't Good Enough for Me

Check out this Washington Times article to see how much confidence public school teachers have in their own system. Here's a list of major cities and the percentage of teachers who send their children to private schools:

Philadelphia - 44%
Cincinnati - 41%
Chicago - 39%
Rochester NY - 38%
Baltimore - 35%
San Francisco/Oakland - 34%
New York City/NJ Suburbs - 33%
Milwaukee/New Orleans - 29%
Washington DC - 28%

Both the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers refused to comment on the study that yielded these statistics.

“Across the states, 12.2 percent of all families — urban, rural and suburban — send their children to private schools,” says the report, based on 2000 census data.
