The MSM have given Sen. John McCain a pass for quite a long time. But now that his presidential campaign has forged ahead of the competition, the New York Times has started running a series of expose articles, with allegations from unnamed sources. Why are we not surprised? When faced with a choice between loyalty and sensationalism, the big media will opt for sensationalism every time. The unintended consequence of such harassment is that this latest manufactured crisis could force the now-divided conservatives to rush to McCain's defense.
This became the #1 topic for most conservative talk show hosts today, and Media Research Center has some choice words for the New York Times for sinking to the level of the tabloids. If this were a court case, it would have been dismissed for lack of evidence.
Rush Limbaugh, with his usual humor, summed up the situation with these words: "Why should any of us be surprised or even angry at what the New York Times is doing here trying to take out John McCain? Those of you who listen regularly should have been expecting this all along because it's utterly predictable. It's as predictable as the sun rising in the morning. It's as predictable as Ted Kennedy finding a bar at happy hour."
