Gen. McChrystal Summoned to White House, Grilled by President
Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who up to today commanded U.S. forces in Afghanistan, has submitted his resignation after uttering a series of scathing comments in a recent Rolling Stone interview scheduled for publication on Friday. President Obama promptly nominated Gen. David Petraeus (left), head of U.S. Central Command and author of the successful surge in Iraq, as his replacement, and it is likely that Congress will expedite this appointment.
