Humanitarian Aid Redefined

You have already heard the international uproar that inevitably transpired when Israeli commandos, trying to enforce their country's blockade of the Gaza Strip, intercepted a flotilla carrying humanitarian aid supplies, ran into resistance from armed activists, and ended up killing 10 civilians aboard the Mavi Marmara. In Slate.com, Shmuel Rosner asks the rhetorical question, "What's to investigate?" He also makes the apt observation that the activists were seeking martyrdom so that they could score a propaganda coup on the world stage. The Jerusalem Post reported that some of the relief supplies included bullet-proof vests, night-vision goggles, and gas masks, and that not less than 50 passengers had ties with jihadist groups. Human Events has a video of the Israelis being attacked by the "peace activists."

UPDATE: Pajamas Media helps us to read about what really happened during the Israeli interception of the Gaza flotilla, rather than the spruced-up al-Jazeera version.
