1. Vote the scoundrel out of office!
2. Ex-politician must realize that he has sinned
3. Ex-politician will confess his many sins to his priest, pastor, rabbi, or spiritual advisor.
4. Ex-politician will apologize to all those he has harmed or offended, regardless of how much time it takes.
5. Ex-politician will don sackcloth and ashes to make a public confession.
6. Ex-politician will pay restitution for ill-gotten gain.
7. Ex-politician will write a full and honest account of his transgressions.
8. Ex-politician realizes that his lust for money and power is an addiction.
9. Ex-politician recognizes that he is helpless to face his addiction alone.
10. Ex-politician will use every means at his disposal to overcome his addiction: learning more about addictive behaviors, consulting and listening to friends, relatives, and victims, and calling on a higher power.
11. Ex-politician will avail himself of any addiction treatment programs, to include support groups.
12. Ex-politician will spend the remainder of his life aggressively proceeding to overcome his addiction, and working to help his peers who are still hooked on the mad pursuit for wealth and power at the expense of the public.
