Huckabee Rocks (Not an Endorsement)

Years ago I saw an album cover called "Propaganda," where there's a painting of Mao Zedong playing lead guitar for a rock band in front of a horde of admiring Chinese. I often had occasion to reflect on how much better off China would be if that were so.

Here are the first three paragraphs of a human-interest article about Gov. Huckabee, a bass guitarist in the classic rock band Capitol Offense, visiting the Tilton School in New Hampshire:

Article Date: Saturday, December 1, 2007
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, whose Republican Presidential campaign is gaining momentum in early primary states, brought his road show to town Friday afternoon, where he demonstrated that that Bill Clinton isn't the only former Arkansas Governor with a flair for the musical scene.

Huckabee didn't pull out the saxophone but instead donned a bass guitar to perform "Louie Louie" and "Sweet Home Alabama" at the Tilton School.

"How many would rather listen to music than a politician talk?" Huckabee asked the crowd in the Tilton School's Memorial Athletic Recreational Center before seamlessly joining the school's band, named "Ram Band."
