Not Enough to Cover Legal Expenses

A Politico article reports that Joe McGinniss’s latest hatchet job “The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin” sold 6,034 copies in its first six days, according to Nielsen Bookscan.

The book did best in the Pacific geographic area, which includes Alaska, selling more than 1,500 copies, while “The Rogue” sold fewer than 500 copies in the Northeast, which includes New York, according to the International Business Tribune. BookScan tracks sales for about 75 percent of books sold in the United States.

The book, which has been both panned by critics and seen excerpts go viral on the Internet, currently ranks 116th on Amazon’s Best Sellers, and according to IBT was the 16th best-selling new hardcover last week....
