Now That Perry's in the Lead, Everyone Else Is Gunning for Him

It comes as no surprise that Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who is currently the leading Republican presidential candidate, was roundly criticized by Gov. Mitt Romney and Rep. Michele Bachmann in last night's CNN/Tea Party debate in Tampa, FL. Romney said that Gov. Perry had some built-in advantages that spelled prosperity for Texas: no income tax, plenty of oil, and a Republican-dominated legislature. "If you're dealt four aces, that doesn't necessarily make you a great poker player." Ms. Bachmann pushed aggressively on Perry's controversial human papillomavirus vaccination order and the Texas DREAM Act of 2001. Congressman Ron Paul got some boos from the audience for his arguments in favor of slashing military spending.
