Six-Ton Satellite Falls to Earth

An AP/MSNBC article reports that a much-heralded event has come to pass: the UARS (Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite) went down in flames somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. It happened somewhere between 11:23 p.m. Friday and 1:09 a.m. Saturday (EDT). It was launched 20 years ago by space shuttle Discovery.
