Tom Wilson, Sr., Creator of "Ziggy," Dies at 80

Cartoonist Tom Wilson, Sr., who created the lovable loser Ziggy in 1969, has died of pneumonia in Cincinnati, Ohio, according to an Associated Press article in FOX News.

His son, Tom Wilson, Jr., who took over the comic in 1987, remarked, "He was a passionate and charismatic man, it came out in everything he did. "He loved ideas and he loved creating — that was really what drove him. He wasn't a loser in that sense because his passion just came out and inspired everyone around him."
