In a piece on the country's sour mood, the Austin American-Statesman's Ken Herman quotes Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) with his explanation for Congress' lowest-ever approval ratings, which a recent Gallup poll placed at 9%.
Reid's response: Congress' low approval ratings are Bush's fault.
The Statesman's Herman quotes Sen. Reid:
"Any time, I repeat, any time you have a president that is down so, so far in poll numbers, it drags down a city council member," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. "It drags down any elected official, including us, and we recognize that."
Quoted in "The New Editor."
EDITORIAL NOTE: When will Congress accept responsibility for anything? When I went on Google, it called up 39,300 references to the search terms "Reid" and "blame Bush."
