Closing the Book on Borders

USA Today and many other news sources have reported that beginning on Friday of this week, Borders Books will be closing its remaining 399 bookstores after liquidating as much merchandise as they can. By September all 10,700 employes of this chain will lose their jobs. One of the contributing factors to the downfall of Borders has been that unlike Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble, they missed the boat on the e-book revolution.
