An editorial in Investor's Business Daily proposes that Congress table the Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA), and wait until the Republicans recapture the presidency and both houses of Congress. We are inclined to agree with that position, as supporters of BBA cannot assemble a two-thirds majority at this time, but may be able to after the 2012 election.
The same editorial praises Republicans for making a stand on other issues near and dear to the heart of conservatives, such as cutting spending (the only cuts that the Obama administration has in mind are in the Dept. of Defense) and holding the line on taxation.
