CNN has a heartwarming story about a young man in the Mississippi Delta, Lucas McCarty, who was born with cerebral palsy. He quickly learned to feel at home at the Trinity House of Prayer, where he was the only white member, and its pastor, John Woods, treated him as though he were his own son. This story became the basis of a book, Year of Our Lord, by T.R. Pearson.
