The System Worked, Says Former Prosecutor on the Acquital of Casey Anthony

Jeffrey Scott Shapiro wrote an article for FOX News that presents his professional opinion as to why he believed the jury did its job. "Proving anything ‘beyond a reasonable doubt’ is the highest standard under the law. It is much more severe than the civil standard of proving a case ‘by a preponderance’ of the evidence, or the evidentiary standard of ‘clear and convincing,’" he wrote. In spite of all the drama and speculation swirling around this well-publicized trial, the jury was bound to base its verdict strictly on the basis of known facts.
