Some Things Are So Obvious, They Hardly Qualify as News

Take, for example, this CNN headline: "Maria Shriver Files for Divorce" from her husband, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. It was only a matter of when (not whether) she would turn in the paperwork. Meanwhile, while the TSA was busy feeling a 95-year-old grandmother, ABC News reports a Nigerian man with a stolen ID and expired boarding passes slipped through airport security in an attempt to catch a flight to Los Angeles. A Telegraph (U.K.) article describes how Luke Yeomans of Eastwood, Nottingham died of a heart attack when one of his king cobras in his snake sanctuary bit him. Over at the Washington Post, Glenn Kessler in his "Fact Checker" awards President Obama two Pinocchios for the content-free nature of his latest press conference.
